My Favourite Foundation!

Hi! I hope you're okay.

Okay, so recently I've found THE ONE, and yes, it feels as amazing as everyone says. After years of trialling and testing what seems like hundreds of high end and drug store level foundations, I've finally found one that matches my skin perfectly.

This is Vitalumiere Aqua by Chanel.

I've known of this foundation's existence for years now but I never thought to try it out. Before this, the closest match I managed to find was "Vanilla 52" Health Mix by Bourjois. I absolutely adored the formula of that foundation but the colour was always slightly off. It was slightly pink. There in lies my issue.

I am one of the most pale people you'll ever gaze upon, sometimes I swear I'm see-through. However, my skin is yellow/golden based and this just throws everyone off.
After trying and trying to find a pale, yellow based foundation in the drug store and being unsuccessful, I started to head over to high end makeup counters. As you should, I always go shopping for foundation with no makeup on. Unfortunately I'm blessed with quite a lot of redness over my face, which has tricked every sales associate into thinking I'm 'pink based' I try to argue my 'yellow' case, but they've all turned me towards pink formulas.
I came very close to finding a foundation I loved, I really enjoyed Estee Lauder Double Wear for a while. Sadly, their palest shades are all very pink based. I tried wearing the shade 'Shell' for a while and it looked good indoors, but in the daylight, you could clearly see a pale pink mask where my foundation was sitting on my skin! I looked like one of those chewy Drumstick lollies, pink on my face and yellower towards my chest!

I wandered over to Chanel feeling defeated already. I sat down with the sales assistant and explained my pink/yellow situation. To my surprise, she agreed. She saw that my skin was clearly not pink based and matched me with Vitalumiere in shade "10 Beige"
The formula is like a better, smoother, lighter version of Bourjois Healthy Mix, and the colour just seems to melt into my skin, leaving no scary masks behind! Finally I look all one colour!

If you've had any issues finding good pale foundations with a yellow base, or if you're looking for something lightweight with a medium/buildable coverage, I urge you to try this foundation as soon as possible! It's around £34 and is available in House of Fraser, Selfridges, John Lewis, Debenhams and any other stores with Chanel counters.

Id also recommend Le Blanc De Chanel. I was up-sold this primer when I bought my first bottle of Vitalumiere Aqua and I've never looked back.

Now as amazing as these products are, unfortunately it has come to my attention that Chanel isn't cruelty free. If you have any foundation recommendations please share them with me. I absolutely love the formula and colour that Chanel Vitalumiere provides, so the recommendations need to be similar, please!

til next time!
